A NOTICE ABOUT PURCHASING ORGANIC BANANAS

Underpaid farm workers and their children are forced to work with pesticides on conventional banana plantations in Ecuador, and elsewhere in the world, without protective clothing. The Children have to climb trees with ropes that are soaked in pesticide without protective clothing, which they can't afford.

There are many harmful side effects from exposure to these poisons, including skin rashes, nausea, and bio accumulation of toxins causing physical and psychological trauma, to name only a couple.  Indeed, over 200,000 farm workers die worldwide every year due to pesticide poisoning.

Purchasing only organically grown bananas will force agrabusiness plantation owners to grow without harmful chemicals, decreasing the workers exposure. I encourage everyone to spend a little extra and buy only organically grown bananas.  You will be doing a favor for yourself and your own children as well.

MONSANTO’s BIOLOGICAL WAR ON THE WORLD

American Based Monsanto Corporation is attempting to control the food supply of the entire world with their GMO (genetically modified foods) and with the patents that they hold on the seeds.

This food is specifically designed to work with the highly toxic ROUNDUP pesticide with which Monsanto is polluting the globe.

They are using ruthless tactics to force peasant farmers in all parts of the globe to convert to their frankenstien food.  The native home of corn situated in Oaxaca, Mexico has been purposefully contaminated with GMO seeds for the purpose of wiping out the native cultivated varieties of corn that have been grown in the area for 10,000 years. Monsanto is  doing this for profit and control.  This is the most vicious form of warfare that can be proliferated.  It is irreversible and permanently damaging to the people and the planet.  70% of food at the supermarket has GMO ingredients and is not required to be labelled as having GMO indgredients.  The evidence of their detrimental effect on your health has been supressed by Monsanto.  THEY MUST BE STOPPED!  Visit the website of the ORGANIC CONSUMERS ASSOCIATION to learn what you can do to stop Monsanto before Monsanto stopS you.

THE ARTIST EDGE is the website of Trayce Pjirrou (pronounced trace perro). The last name is derived from French and Swedish with the “J” silent.

Trayce Pjirrou grew up after the age of 11 in Santa Barbara, California.  Trayce attended Santa Barbara City College, UCLA, Southern Oregon College, and UCSB.  He began playing guitar and singing around the age of 5, and, has kept this musical art in tune since that time, continually developing his musical technique, voice, and compostions.

In the 1980’s Trayce took on the additional endeavors of being a visual artist specializing in two dimensional graphic and fine art in various mediums.  He has exhibited his work in Santa Barbara, and, Sedona Arizona, and, performed his music at many venues in many parts of the United States.

Trayce is a largely self taught Yogi in the Iyengar style. Begining his practice in 1995 as a means of stayng in shape and avoiding injuring in other physical endeavors.   He has practiced extensively and mastered many of the most difficult poses of the Iyengar style.  He has taught yoga at several healing centers in Sedona, Arizona, and, most recently at the Cedar Springs Renewal Center in Cedro Wooley, Washington,  a raw food retreat center/ranch.

Trayce is also a trained dancer and choreographer.  Begining in 1995 in Santa Barbara, he has studied with some of Santa Barbara’s top jazz and modern dance teachers.  He has also studied at Edge in Los Angeles, Steps On Broadway in New York City, and the Jeanette Neal Dance Studio in Boston, Massachusetts, and, several other studios in various parts of the United States.

Trayce has developed a yoga routine and instructional framework especially for dancers to assist in injury prevention and healing.

Trayce is also a nutritional food consultant.  He has studied natural nutrition for over 20 years.  His goal has always been to acheive a natural level of energy, health and well being  strictly from pure, unprocessed, unadulterated food sources without the use of any kind of stimulants including caffiene, alchohol, nicotine,  or, chemical formulas, (i.e. prescription or non prescription drugs).  His knowledge is of the most substantial kind, not theoretical, but material.  He has used himself as an experimental subject in testing dietary and nutritional programs from many of the most well known figures in this field.  He is continually experimenting and refining his approach to diet and nutrition and maintains a high level of health due to his accumulated knowledge and experimentation, which he makes available to anyone in need of dietary and nutritional improvement, through private consultation.

Trayce can be found frequently in physical activities such as yoga, dance, surfing, bike riding, running, weightlifting, and hiking.  He attributes a high energy level and physical well being to his yoga practice and the dietary practices that he has developed over his extensive years of research.

Currently Trayce is researching and investigating sustainable housing and organic food production, and, has recently completed a training internship in New Mexico at the Earthship Biotechure Community in Taos.  He is continuing his practice, begun in 1998, of “The Presense Process”, a process of conciousness evolution developed by Michael Brown which can be visited at www.thepresenceportal.com
